The Right Golfing Grips Can Shave Points Off Your Game

golfing grips
Most golfers are aware that the right equipment is important to success on the golf course. Having equipment that is right for you is a sure way to lower your scores and improve your performance on the course. One piece of equipment that is commonly overlooked is golfing grips. A good grip can make a huge difference in your swing and help you take your game to the next level.

Many golfers prefer using different grips for different clubs. Some like to use the same type of grip for all of their irons and wedges for consistency. Others like to use a special grip for their putter which is usually softer and allows for a gentle, comfortable grip while putting.

Ladies Golfing Surging in Popularity

ladies golfing
With the surge in popularity of golfing in recent years among demographic groups that have not traditionally played golf, ladies golfing has become hugely popular and warrants some discussion.

Most courses around the world now feature special ladies tees that are set several yards ahead of the mens tees in order to equalize the game for female golfers. While men and women are equally capable of playing and succeeding at the game of golf, women in general drive the ball a shorter distance, and the closer tees reflect this slight disparity in driving abilities. Ladies golfing is quickly becoming as popular as mens golfing, and the upsurge is showing no signs of slowing down.

Young Golfers Should Consider Options in Golfing Careers

golfing careers
If you are a young golfer who finds him or herself constantly thinking about golf and golfing related subjects, then you may want to consider pursuing one of the many golfing careers available.

While the most ambitious dream of being PGA pros, many golfers do not posses the natural talent to achieve that status in the golf world. Other golfing careers include, club pro, golfing instructor, or a position in the golf merchandise industry. If you are a golfer who also has a passion for writing, you may want to pursue writing for a golfing magazine. This is an especially interesting job as you can travel to various tournaments and maybe even interview some of the worlds top golfers.

27 Hole Golfing Gives You More Time on the Course for Each Excursion

27 hole golfing
If eighteen holes of golf just is not enough to satisfy your golfing appetite, consider playing an extra half a round on your next outing. 27 hole golfing is becoming increasingly popular as golfers are finding less and less time to spend on the golf course. It makes sense to make the most out of each excursion to the golf course.

27 hole golf also has the added benefit of giving you the opportunity for a longer workout on the course, which can only lead to better health. Many courses offer discounts on a second round or half round in a day and more and more courses feature a full 27 or 36 holes on their grounds, keeping longer trips fresh and exciting.

An Overview of Basic Golfing Terms

golfing terms
It is time to give an overview of basic golfing terms here at Golfing 180. Many who do not play golf are familiar with golfing terminology and use it in everyday language. We have all heard things described as "sub par" when they do not live up to expectations.

Basic Golfing Terms Include:

Par: The target score for any hole. Par usually ranges anywhere from 3 to 6 strokes per hole.

Bogey: Scoring one over par on a hole. Double bogey means two over par, and so forth.

Eagle: A score that is one under par. Eagles are hard to accomplish, but it is very fulfilling when you can pull one off.

Tee: The area from which you take your initial shot at each hole. Different tees are set up at each hole for golfers of varying skill levels.

The Joys of Nudist Golfing

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I have gotten a few emails asking about nudist golfing and I thought I might talk about it today because it is definitely an interesting topic. From the few news articles I have found on the subject, there has been growing interest in nude golfing in recent years, especially among retirees. Of course, golfing in the nude requires warm temperatures and a secluded golf course that allows naked golfing.

While I enjoy being naked as much as the next person, the idea of golfing without any clothes on is slightly scary for me. One concern is whether or not to wear my golf shoes and glove while on the course. Would I look silly clad only in golf cleats and blue socks with a single white glove? I think I might. I did however dig up a picture of nude golfers and posted it here to give you an idea of what nudist golfing might look like. (Don't worry, you cant see anything.)

Bolle Sunglasses Best For Golfing

sunglasses best for golfing
In my opinion, Bolle sunglasses are the best brand for avid golfers. In all my years of playing golf in the bright Arizona sun, I have found that Bolle sunglasses are the most durable and comfortable available. I have gone through dozens of sunglasses in the past few years, and my favorite pairs have always been made by the good people at Bolle.

Sunglasses best for golfing should be polarized, fit comfortably, and should to no degree distort your vision. Clear, undistorted vision is essential to reading greens and long fairways. If your eyesight is compromised by a sub par (pun intended) pair of sunglasses, then your golf game will no doubt suffer as a result.
