An Overview of Basic Golfing Terms

golfing terms
It is time to give an overview of basic golfing terms here at Golfing 180. Many who do not play golf are familiar with golfing terminology and use it in everyday language. We have all heard things described as "sub par" when they do not live up to expectations.

Basic Golfing Terms Include:

Par: The target score for any hole. Par usually ranges anywhere from 3 to 6 strokes per hole.

Bogey: Scoring one over par on a hole. Double bogey means two over par, and so forth.

Eagle: A score that is one under par. Eagles are hard to accomplish, but it is very fulfilling when you can pull one off.

Tee: The area from which you take your initial shot at each hole. Different tees are set up at each hole for golfers of varying skill levels.
