Trips to play 9 Hole Golfing

It was my trips to the 9 hole golf course in my town during my teenage years that made me fall in love with the sport of golf. My friends and I, with only minimal knowledge of the game and the most rudimentary clubs, would play nine holes of three par golf, and then play again if time allowed. It was a good learning experience and also allowed me to bond with my friends.

Occasionally we would get competitive, but since no one was really much better than anyone else, it was of little consequence. The point of the story is that if you are trying to learn the game of golf, maybe 9 hole golfing is a good first step for you.

9 hole courses are less intimidating and require much less skill to achieve reasonable scores which will keep your spirits high while your are still learning.
